I'm a staff science writer at The Dallas Morning News and a contributing editor at the monthly magazine Scientific American. Previously, I was a staff writer and editor at Newsweek magazine for 14 years before becoming a senior editor at Sci Am.

I'm also author of "The Forgotten Cure," about the race to develop new, more targeted antibiotics (Copernicus Books; 2011)

I moved with my family from New York City to Texas in August, 2013.
