Dr. Cheryl L. Prachyl rejoined the faculty as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington after several years at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Dr. Prachyl received her Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1996. She teaches courses in Accounting for Managers, Accounting Information Systems, Intermediate Accounting, and Accounting Research. Dr. Prachyl’s areas of research include Accounting Education, Technology in Accounting, and Fraud. After earning a Master of Science in Accounting at Texas A&M University, Dr. Prachyl entered the Ph.D. program at the University of Texas at Arlington and began teaching Principles of Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, and Intermediate Accounting. She also worked with Allyson Turner, PC as a staff accountant and system specialist doing small business system troubleshooting. Dr. Prachyl has presented research papers at the American Accounting Association, World Congress of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research, TSCPA Accounting Education Conference, American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences, Decision Sciences Institute Southwest Region, and International Business and Education Technology Conference. Her research has been published in the Journal of Accountancy, Journal of Instructional Pedagogies, Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences, Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting, and Southwestern Business Administration Journal. She serves the Texas Society of CPAs as a member of the Relations with Educational Institutions and has served as Chair of the Planning Committee for the annual Accounting Education Conference for the past 3 years. She received the Outstanding Educator Award for the Southwest Region of the American Accounting Association. She is the Program Chair for the 2020 Southwest Region Conference of the American Accounting Association.
