Danielle R. Eugene, PhD, LCSW, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Eugene’s research focuses on the social ecology of economically disadvantaged ethnic minority (EDEM) youth. Specifically, the effects of family, school, and community systems on improving well-being outcomes (e.g., academic, social, behavioral, and economic) for EDEM youth. Her current research continues to explore how the K-12 educational environment and experiences of EDEM youth shape student outcomes and influence developmental trajectories from adolescence into emerging adulthood. Dr. Eugene is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Louisiana and Texas with seven years of practice experience in child welfare, adult mental health, and school social work. She received her PhD in Social Work with a minor in Educational Research and MSW from Louisiana State University, and a BS in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
