Biography

Dr. Roper has 20+ years of social work practice working in program development and implementation of evidence based practices in complex behavior change environments including mental health and substance abuse in criminal justice systems. Her experience includes direct clinical practice in various settings and supervision and development of clinical social work students and front line social service teams. She has been an advocate and volunteer in the LGBTQ+ community for more than two decades.

      Principal role in development and implementation of a Forensic Assertive Community Team (FACT) in collaboration with Meadow Mental Health Policy Institute to address the mental health needs of persons with severe and persistent mental illness and involvement in the criminal justice system. Provide clinical leadership and supervision.

      Recruited to stabilize and secure contract for 360 bed residential substance abuse treatment program. Responsible for clinical and operational oversight of forensic therapeutic residential program with 360 bed capacity increasing to 590 beds.

      Adapt of Texas (Dallas, TX, United States)
      Recruited to develop, design and implement Co-Occurring Disorders 60 bed residential pilot project with 2.8 million dollar budget serving the needs of felony probationers diagnosed with co-occurring disorders of substance abuse and severe and persistent mental illness.
