Dr. Yiran (Emma) Yang is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering. She has a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a B.S. degree in Vehicle Engineering. Her research interests are mainly concerned with evaluating and improve different aspects of additive manufacturing, e.g., process sustainability, product performance, waste recycling, material characterization, process modeling and optimization, etc. She is dedicated to creating a collaborative and diversified research environment, and she is always open to advising undergraduate students in research. In addition to innovative research, she has been devoting her time to serving the scientific community, mentoring female students in engineering, K-12 outreach, multidisciplinary education, and workforce development for future manufacturing.
