Dr. Melero-García is an Assistant Professor of Spanish and Translation at the University of Texas at Arlington. He received a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics from Indiana University, an MA in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of New Mexico, and a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada (Spain). In his research, he specializes in phonetics and phonology, second language acquisition, and sociolinguistics. He is also a practicing translator and interpreter, appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. At UTA, he teaches courses in Spanish language, translation, and interpreting.
