Research Interests
Dr. Bailey’s experiences as a school administrator fuels her research passion for improving equity and access for all learners. As such, her research interests include organizational systems and responsive instruction for diverse learners; social and emotional learning (SEL); restorative practices; and the principalship.

Biography

Biography

Dr. Bailey is an assistant professor for Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University. Prior to joining UTA, Dr. Bailey served as an elementary principal at two turnaround campuses, a coordinator for a SB1882 charter network, and a director for Bilingual/ESL, RtI and Section 504. While leading in the public schools, Dr. Bailey presented extensively at the state and national levels on topics in leadership, instructional coaching, and English Learner instruction. Her dissertation, “Tener Éxito: Stories of Self-efficacy from Undocumented Latinos in the Pursuit of Higher Education,” was recognized as Dissertation of the Year from TCPEA in 2014.
