Biography

Biography

Dr. Jinny Choi is Associate Professor of Spanish and Spanish Linguistics at the University of Texas at Arlington. She holds a Ph.D in Spanish Linguistics from Georgetown University and an M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of California, Irvine. Her areas of specialization are sociolinguistics, bi/multiilingualism, language and identity, Spanish dialectology, and languages in contact. She is currently working on several projects on language and identity in transnational bilingual/trilingual communities in South America and in the United States.

      In the Committee on Graduate Program Creation, we reviewed several new graduate programs, including the MS in Data Science, MS in Learning Analytics, and Certificate Program in Learning Analytics. Each review was a long process and met several times with representatives from each program for further clarifications and background information. Some programs were required to revise substantially with thorough revisions and modifications.
