After graduating with distinction from my undergraduate institution, I successfully completed one semester of medical school, before deciding to enter industry. I spent four years in industry before returning to a graduate program in applied physiology in order to focus on human cardiovascular research. In 2013, I completed my doctoral degree in Biological Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. William Farquhar at the University of Delaware. I completed a postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Dr. Lacy Alexander in the College of Health and Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University, before starting as an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation at The University of Texas Arlington in January 2019.
