Research Interests

Research Interests
I am an applied researcher whose primary research goal is to create healthier, more equitable communities for vulnerable and marginalized older adults and their family caregivers. I am interested in innovative non-pharmacological interventions to help inform healthy behaviors and keep older adults engaged in the community. I am also interested in identifying disparities in health and health care systems by focusing on underrepresented populations in the field of aging.

      Gero-Ed (Aging and Gerontology) at the Council on Social Work Education
      The Gero-Ed Track, sponsored by the Hartford-funded CSWE Gero-Ed Center and the Association for Gerontology Education in Social Work, assists faculty, students, field supervisors, and practitioners to disseminate and gain gerontological knowledge and skills and issues related to aging and intergenerational social work research, policy, education, and practice. My main responsibility includes assisting Phase II abstract reviews for the CSWE Gero-Ed track presentations, paper presentation and titling groupings, scheduling and hosting track meetings at the annual meeting at CSWE, and developing track meeting agendas.

Furthermore, I assist with program evaluations (e.g., Money Management Education Program) for effective outreach.
