about me

Research Interests

Research Interests
My principal research interests include: judicial voting behavior in the U.S Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals, and United States District Courts, especially in First Amedment Free Speech and Religion conflicts. My research interests also include American legal history, especially post-Civil war to date.

Teaching Interests

Teaching Interests
My principal teaching inteJests in law include U.S. constitutional law in criminal practice, especially the Fourth Amendment Search and Seizure Clause and the First Amendment Free Speech and Religion Clauses. My teaching assignment in Constitutional Issues in Criminal Justice (graduate) and the American Judicial System (undergraduate) has provided me an opportunity to express these interests. Because I gravitate toward quantitative methodology, teaching both undergraduate and graduate statistics has provided me an opportunity to deepen my understanding of statistical methods. I have become a better quantitative researcher as a result of teaching these courses.
