Research interests include: "Diabetes, Depression and Syndemic Suffering among African American Patients: The Intersectionality of Race, Gender and Class".

Herein, applied syndemic theory and patient narratives were used to explain the interconnections of type 2 diabetes, depression and human suffering among low-income African American outpatients in the southern sector of Dallas, Texas, USA.

The intersections of race, gender and class were examined as additional clinical research variables. This research study indicated how poverty, social relationships and other conditions stressed vulnerable populations and marginalized communities.

Biography

Biography

Rev. Dr. Pamela Fox, PhD, M.Div., LCSW-S, is a licensed clinical social worker and a Texas Board Approved Social Work Supervisor in the State of Texas.

She was the Principal Investigator of the 2016 research study, entitled "Diabetes, Depression and Syndemic Suffering among African American Patients: The Intersectionality of Race, Gender and Class".

Rev. Dr. Fox is also an Ordained Minister in The United Church of Christ.

Dr. Fox is currently an Assistant Professor in Practice at The University of Texas at Arlington - School of Social Work in Arlington, Texas and is the Clinical Director of Synergy Counseling & Coaching Center and Foxfire Outreach Ministries.
