Research Interests

Research Interests
Dr. Davidson's research interests lie in the intersection of advanced computational, data analytics, and inspection methods, with application in advanced manufacturing, in-service maintenance, and aviation safety, with specific concentration on composite materials and structures. Experimental, computational, and theoretical mechanics form the basis for much of the research activities.

Currently, Dr. Davidson is working on optimization of spacecraft structural performance using advanced Automated Fiber Placement methods, multi-scale failure of composite materials, Machine learning methods for Non-Destructive Evaluation of impact damage. Data science approaches for multi-scale computational modeling.

Biography

Prior to joining University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Davidson was a Assistant Research Scientist, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, a Post Doctoral Fellow at University of Washington, and before that, a researcher at General Electric Research Center in Niskayuna, NY.
