Research Interests
My research focuses on 19th to 21st century French and Francophone literatures of the Middle East and North Africa; the intersection of visual culture, art history, and literature; film; Francophone and Anglophone colonial and postcolonial Jewish literature and culture of Arab lands; feminism.

I teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in my areas of research, Francophone Middle Eastern and North African literatures, Visual culture, as well as 19th and 21st century poetry, film, and the novel. I also teach Medieval and Renaissance French literature.

Biography

Biography

Prior to coming to UT Arlington, I was a tenured French professor at the University of Rochester, Eastman School of Music. Prior to that I was a French Instructor and language coordinator at Louisisana State University in Baton Rouge. I received my Ph.D. from Rutgers University where I studied with the eminent scholar Leo Bersani.
