Biography

Biography

Ritesh Saini is an Associate Professor(Marketing) in the College of Business at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is also the PhD program coordinator. He received his MBA from IIM-Ahmedabad and PhD (Marketing) from The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania). His research examines consumer psychology, primarily from the lens of Judgement & Decision making. His research projects investigate Time-Money differences, Behavioral Issues in Pricing and Retailing, and Risk communication. His work has appeared in the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Management Science, Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, Journal of Consumer Psychology, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Retailing, Risk Analysis, Marketing Letters. He is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Consumer Marketing. He has taught courses in Marketing, Buyer Behavior, International Marketing, and Research Methods in the undergraduate, MBA and doctoral programs.

      Ritesh Saini, an assistant professor of marketing in the UT Arlington College of Business, said that consumers undergo a moral licensing behavior when shopping with reusable grocery bags, KTVT CBS 11 reported. The story quoted a university study that showed consumers sometimes get grocery store items that aren't necessarily good for them when shopping with their own bags. "We keep a mental clock ticking in our mind and give ourselves positive or negative brownie points," Saini said.

On Friday, California-based Trader Joe’s will open in Fort Worth and add its name to the long list of established stores already in the area. What makes D/FW so competitive is “this area is one growth engine which has continued to show economic growth in the past few years,” Saini said. “Some of the other larger cities, one million plus, have stagnated.”
