Biography

Lead Teacher of Psychiatric Nursing of Individuals’ Families and Communities (N3481) in both the On-Campus and Off-Campus pre-licensure BSN program.  Responsibilities as Lead Teacher include program curriculum, course development, teaching learning strategies, lecture preparation, evidenced-based assessment and evaluation strategies, course revisions, collaboration with course instructors, coaches, colleagues and undergraduate program administration.  

Course content in N-3481 focuses on application of the nursing process with emphasis on critical thinking, therapeutic nursing interventions, and effective communication and interpersonal skills as they relate to persons with psychiatric mental health conditions. Multiple strageties are employed for evaluation of readiness for clinical practice as a psychiatric nurse including psychiatric inpatient and outpatient, communication labs, psychiatric simulation and computer based testing.
