Biography

     Susan Scheid, RN, MSN, is a Simulation Facilitator in the Smart Hospital™ at the University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing. Since August of 2010 she has worked full time in a 27 bed simulation center using 40+ simulators in a hospital setting, teaching and evaluating over 480 nursing students per semester. As a designated faculty member at the Smart Hospital™, Susan is actively involved in developing and implementing simulation activities for all levels of nursing education.  She conducts ongoing research into the effectiveness of simulation learning, and is the Standardized Patient Program Coordinator for the Smart Hospital™. 

      Susan maintains active membership in two simulation organizations: the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation in Learning (INACSL) and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSiH) and has presented at both organizations' annual meetings about various simulation topics. 

      Susan has more than 30 years experience as an RN and maintains clinical expertise in obstetric nursing. She has been teaching in nursing education for five years at the University of Texas at Arlington College of Nursing.

           As Chair of the College of Nursing Nominating and Elections Committee, I work within the CON:to establish a procedure for preparing a ballot and conducting the annual election of faculty members to Faculty Assembly offices, standing committees, and university organizations and committees, in accordance with the Bylaws and University Handbook of Operating Procedures; to prepare a ballot of qualified candidates who have consented to serve; and to conduct the election, tally the ballots, and prepare an official report to be presented at the April meeting of the Faculty Assembly.
