Dr. Traci Freling joined the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in 2007. She received her PhD in Business Administration (with a Concentration in Marketing, and minors in Psychology and Statistics) and her Master of Science in Marketing from Texas A&M University. Prior to her current appointment, Dr. Freling was an Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Kentucky. She also worked in the marketing research industry as a research analyst for clients such as SnackWells, Samonsite, Frito-Lay, JCPenney, and Brinker International.
At UTA, Dr. Freling teaches at the undergraduate level, in the MBA program, and in the doctoral program in the Department of Marketing. She has taught Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Integrated Marketing Communication, International Marketing, and Services Marketing, and won the College of Business Excellence in Teaching Award in 2016.
Dr. Freling studies consumer processing of advertising and promotional information, consumers’ judgment formation, decision-making, and brand evaluations, brand personality/equity, construct measurement through psychometric evaluation and scale development, and research synthesis and theory-building through meta-analysis. She has published in Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Brand Management, Journal of Product & Brand Management, Journal of Retailing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Marketing Management Journal, Organizational Behavior & Human Decision Processes, Psychology & Marketing, and Risk Analysis.
