Bill recently relocated to the Arlington area after serving 10 years as assistant professor of marketing and management at Park University in Kansas City. While at Park he was also assistant dean in the School of Business and was co-champion of the successful effort to achieve initial accreditation of the program from ACBSP. He holds an MBA from Rockhurst University, and an MPA from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Prior to his move to Texas he was near completion of a doctorate in Health Policy and Management from the University of Kansas. While at UMKC he was awarded the Arthur Mag Ph.D. Fellowship, and also served on the Research Committee for the Initiative for Competitive Inner Cities with Dr. Michael Porter of the Harvard Business School.
Before entering academia, Bill accumulated more than 20 years of professional experience with divisions of Sprint, Merrill Lynch, 20th Century-Fox Film Corporation, AMC Entertainment, UMB Bank, and Hallmark Cards. His achievements include developing client propensity models and data warehouse integration in banking; cross platform integration and C-level and enterprise reporting of internet usage for a major telecom provider; and, analytical projects for Fortune 500 firms including AT&T, Ford, Caterpillar, American Express, and United Airlines. He was also a member of the development team that created advanced regression and cluster models that are resident on one of the three major U.S. consumer household databases.
His recent research has focused on improving access to healthcare among the aging population with an emphasis on the early identification and prevention of chronic conditions that are consistent with cognitive impairment and dementia. His research on ACOs was awarded one of three top honors by the Kansas Public Health Association. He has also incorporated GIS mapping, CRM, and other database marketing techniques to improve capacity planning for under-served Medicaid recipients in Kansas.
Very talented in bridging the gap between theory and practice, Bill has been honored at the national level for teaching excellence, and was voted the most outstanding professor by the student body at Park University. When not in the business world he is an award winning chef and author of three books on Kansas City Barbeque. He and his wife Kathy reside in Mansfield.
